Sweet & Salty Black Sesame Mochi Rice Cakes (Korean)
Soft and chewy mochi rice cakes flavored with a hint of sweetness and a touch of salt, enhanced with black sesame.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Oats
- 1 cup Glutinous rice flour (Mochiko)
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- Pinch Salt
- 1 cup Water
- 2 tbsp Black sesame seeds
Instructions
- Combine glutinous rice flour, sugar, and salt in a microwave-safe bowl.
- Gradually add water, mixing until smooth. Ensure no lumps remain.
- Cover with plastic wrap and microwave on high for 2 minutes. Stir vigorously.
- Microwave for another 1-2 minutes, or until the mixture is translucent and sticky. Stir again.
- Sprinkle a baking sheet with oats and black sesame seeds. This will prevent sticking and add flavor.
- Drop spoonfuls of the mochi mixture onto the prepared sheet. Wet your hands slightly to prevent the mochi from sticking to your fingers.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
