Spicy Korean Beef Bowls
Flavorful Korean beef bowls featuring lean ground beef, rice, and a spicy gochujang sauce, offering a customizable and protein-rich meal.
Ingredients
- 500g Fresh Lean Ground Beef
- 3 cups Cooked Rice
- 2 tbsp Gochujang (Korean Chili Paste)
- 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tbsp Sesame Oil
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 1 tbsp grated Ginger
- 3 Green Onions
- to taste Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce
- 1 tsp Brown Sugar
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix gochujang, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, and black pepper. This creates the sauce.
- In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain any excess fat to keep it lean.
- Pour the prepared gochujang mixture over the beef and cook, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens and coats the beef, about 5 minutes.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. For a sweeter taste, add a bit more brown sugar; for more spice, add sriracha.
- Serve the spicy beef over cooked rice. Garnish generously with sliced green onions. Offer extra sriracha on the side for those who like it spicier.
