Maple & Walnut Blondies (Canadian)
Chewy blondies infused with the flavors of maple syrup and walnuts, a Canadian treat.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup Butter, melted
- 1 cup Brown Sugar (light or dark)
- 1 Large Egg
- 1/4 cup Maple Syrup (pure)
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 cup Chopped Walnuts
- 1 Pinch of Salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour (or line with parchment paper) an 8x8 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar. Beat in egg, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Stir in chopped walnuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs. Be careful not to overbake.
- Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
