Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8x8 inch baking pan, or line with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a large bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar. Mix well until smooth.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in maple syrup and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Stir in chopped pecans.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs. Avoid overbaking.
  9. Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares. A drizzle of maple glaze (powdered sugar mixed with maple syrup) is a delightful addition.
