Korean Braised Potatoes and Carrots (Gamja Jorim)

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Peel and cut the potatoes and carrots into bite-sized, even pieces. Aim for about 1/2 inch thick.
  2. In a skillet, combine the potatoes, carrots, tamari, honey, sesame oil, garlic, masala noodles and water.
  3. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the potatoes and carrots are tender and the sauce has thickened. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking and prevent burning.
  4. Once the sauce has thickened and glazed the vegetables, remove from heat.
  5. Garnish with sesame seeds, if desired.
  6. Serve warm as a side dish with rice and other Korean dishes.
