  2. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 7 minutes, ensuring it's cooked through to a safe internal temperature.
  3. Stir in minced garlic, canned diced tomatoes (with their juice), and drained and rinsed white beans.
  4. Pour in chicken broth, add Italian seasoning, dried oregano, and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring to a simmer.
  5. Reduce heat, cover, and let simmer for at least 30 minutes, or up to an hour, to allow flavors to meld. Stir occasionally.
