Indian Spiced Chickpea & Potato Easter Patties
Savory Easter-themed chickpea and potato patties infused with Indian spices.
Ingredients
- 1 can (15 oz), drained and rinsed Chickpeas
- 2 medium, boiled and mashed Potatoes
- 1/2 cup, finely chopped Yellow Onions
- 1 tbsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
- 1 tsp Garam Masala
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Powder
- 2 tbsp, finely chopped Cilantro
- 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice
Instructions
- Thoroughly drain and rinse the chickpeas. Mash them well with a fork or potato masher in a large bowl.
- Add mashed potatoes, finely chopped onions, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, turmeric powder, cumin powder, and chopped cilantro to the mashed chickpeas.
- Mix all ingredients thoroughly until well combined. Add lemon juice for extra flavor.
- Shape the mixture into small, egg-shaped patties. Ensure patties are uniformly shaped to cook evenly.
- Coat each patty evenly with breadcrumbs.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat until it shimmers. This helps to achieve a crispier exterior.
- Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, until golden brown and heated through. Ensure they are cooked evenly on both sides.
