Gourmet Chicken Noodle Casserole
A warm and hearty casserole filled with tender chicken, egg noodles, gourmet mushrooms, and a creamy sauce, topped with herb-buttered breadcrumbs and baked to golden perfection.
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast, cooked and shredded
- 300 g Egg Noodles
- 227 g Mushrooms, sliced (shiitake, cremini)
- 1 cup Frozen Peas
- 1 can (284 mL) Cream of Mushroom Soup
- 0.5 cup Milk
- 0.5 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded
- 0.33 cup Bread Crumbs
- 2 tbsp Butter, melted
- 1 tsp Fresh Thyme, chopped
- to taste Table Salt
- to taste Black Pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- In a pan, sauté mushrooms until tender. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine cooked chicken, egg noodles, sautéed mushrooms, peas, cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper.
- Mix well.
- Pour mixture into a greased 8x8 inch baking dish.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese and then bread crumbs mixed with melted butter and fresh thyme.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
