Glazed Ham Steak with Roasted Asparagus and Potatoes
Ham steak glazed with a sweet and tangy sauce, served alongside roasted asparagus and mini potatoes.
Ingredients
- 1.1 kg Ham Steak
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
- 1 bunch Asparagus
- 680 g Mini Potatoes
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Black pepper
- 1/4 tsp Garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Glaze Preparation: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and garlic powder until well combined.
- Prepare the Ham Steak: Place ham steak in a baking dish and spread the glaze evenly over the top surface. Ensure the entire top is covered for maximum flavor infusion.
- Prepare the Vegetables: Wash and trim the asparagus. If using mini potatoes, you can halve or quarter them, depending on their size. Toss asparagus and mini potatoes with olive oil, salt, and black pepper in a separate bowl to ensure they're evenly coated.
- Roast: Spread the seasoned vegetables around the ham steak in the baking dish, ensuring they are in a single layer for even roasting.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until ham is heated through and vegetables are tender. The internal temperature of the ham should reach 140°F (60°C). If the vegetables are browning too quickly, you can loosely cover them with foil for the last 10 minutes of baking.
- Rest and Serve: Once cooked, remove the dish from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more flavorful and tender ham steak. Serve the glazed ham steak hot, accompanied by the roasted asparagus and potatoes.
