French Cabbage and Sausage Stew
A hearty and flavorful stew featuring cabbage, sausage, and aromatic herbs, simmered in a rich broth.
Ingredients
- 1/2 medium Green Cabbage
- 500g Sausage
- 900 ml Broth
- 680 ml Tomato Products
- 1 medium Onion
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 1 tsp dried Thyme
- 1 Bay Leaf
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
Instructions
- Slice the sausage and shred the cabbage. Dice the onion and mince the garlic.
- Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.
- Add the sausage and cook until browned. Ensure sausage is cooked to safe internal temperature.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pot and cook until softened.
- Add the shredded cabbage, thyme, bay leaf, broth, and tomato products. Stir to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 40-45 minutes, or until the cabbage is very tender. Remove bay leaf before serving.
- Season with salt and pepper. Serve hot.
