Canadian Poutine Inspired Potato Bowl

  1. Cut potatoes into fries. Soak in cold water for 30 minutes, then drain and pat dry.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Fry potatoes in batches until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels; season immediately with salt.
  4. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped onions and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  5. Whisk in corn starch until smooth, then gradually whisk in beef broth.
  6. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, or until thickened.
  7. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  8. In individual bowls, layer french fries, shredded cheese (mozzarella and cheddar), and sliced wieners.
  9. Pour the hot gravy generously over the fries and cheese, allowing the cheese to melt.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley. Serve immediately.
