Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry (Low Sodium)
A healthier stir-fry with lean ground beef, fresh broccoli, and a homemade low-sodium sauce.
Ingredients
- 350 g Ground Beef (Lean)
- 1/2 medium, thinly sliced Onion
- 3 cups Broccoli florets
- 3 tbsp Low Sodium Soy Sauce
- 1.5 tbsp Honey
- 1 tbsp Cornstarch
- 3 cloves, minced Garlic
- 1.5 tsp, minced Ginger
- 1.5 tsp Sesame oil
- 1.5 cups cooked Rice (cooked)
- 2, thinly sliced for garnish (optional) Green onions
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together low sodium soy sauce, honey, cornstarch, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Set aside.
- Heat sesame oil in a large wok or large non-stick skillet over high heat.
- Add thinly sliced onion and stir-fry until slightly softened (about 2 minutes).
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain off any excess fat.
- Stir in broccoli florets and cook for 4-6 minutes, until crisp-tender.
- Pour the sauce over the beef and broccoli, and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and evenly coats the ingredients (about 2 minutes).
- Garnish with sliced green onions (if using).
- Serve hot over cooked rice.
