Creamy Tomato Pasta with Italian Sausage
A comforting and flavorful pasta dish featuring sausage, creamy tomato sauce, and fresh basil.
Ingredients
- 300g Pasta
- 450 g Breakfast or Dinner Pork Sausage
- 1 jar Pasta Sauce
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1/2 cup Heavy cream
- 1/4 cup, chopped Fresh basil
- 1/4 cup, grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 tsp Garlic powder
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
- While pasta is cooking, remove sausage from casing and cook in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned.
- Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
- Stir in the pasta sauce and garlic powder. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in butter and heavy cream. Simmer for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat. Add some of the reserved pasta water if the sauce is too thick.
- Stir in fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.
