Creamy Tomato & Halloumi Pasta
A quick and flavorful vegetarian pasta dish with halloumi cheese and a creamy tomato sauce.
Ingredients
- 300 g Imported Dry Pasta
- 1 jar (660-680 mL) Pasta Sauce
- 270 g Halloumi Cheese
- 1/4 cup, chopped Fresh Basil
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1/4 tsp (optional) Red Pepper Flakes
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
- While pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add halloumi cheese and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from pan and set aside.
- Pour pasta sauce into the pan and bring to a simmer. Add red pepper flakes, if using.
- Add cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to combine. If the sauce is too thick, add some of the reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
- Return halloumi to the pan. Garnish with fresh basil before serving immediately.
