Creamy Tomato and Spinach Pasta Bake
An enhanced Italian pasta bake with a rich tomato sauce, spinach, creamy ricotta, and a crispy cheese topping.
Ingredients
- 300g Original Pasta
- 1 jar (645 mL) Pasta Sauce
- 1.5 cups, thawed and squeezed dry Frozen Spinach
- 3/4 cup, full-fat Ricotta Cheese
- 1.5 cups, mozzarella or Italian blend Shredded Cheese
- 3 cloves, minced Garlic
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 tsp Dried Oregano
- 1/4 tsp (optional) Red Pepper Flakes
- 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add pasta sauce, dried oregano, and red pepper flakes (if using). Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta with the tomato sauce mixture, spinach, and ricotta cheese. Mix well.
- Pour the pasta mixture into the prepared baking dish. Top evenly with shredded cheese and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
