  1. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms and sauté until softened and lightly browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Season with garlic powder, dried thyme, salt, and freshly ground black pepper.
  3. Toast bread slices lightly.
  4. Top each slice with sautéed mushrooms and shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Broil in the oven until cheese is melted and bubbly, about 2-3 minutes. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
