Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Grease a baking dish.
  2. Cube the bread and arrange half of it in the dish.
  3. Top with half of the Canadian bacon and half of the shredded mozzarella cheese.
  4. Repeat layers with the remaining bread, Canadian bacon, and mozzarella cheese.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, Dijon mustard, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread and bacon layers. Gently press down on the bread to ensure it's submerged.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight).
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown and set. If the top is browning too quickly, cover loosely with foil.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.
