Masala Oats Breakfast Bowl
Savory oatmeal cooked with Indian spices and vegetables for a hearty and low-fat breakfast.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Rolled Oats
- 2 cups Low Sodium Broth
- 2 cloves, minced Garlic
- 1/2 cup, diced Onion
- 1 tsp Garam Masala
- 1 cup Mixed Vegetables (peas, carrots, beans)
- 2 tbsp, chopped Cilantro
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1/2, finely chopped (optional) Green Chili
Instructions
- Heat a little water or broth in a pot. Sauté garlic and onion until softened.
- Add the Garam Masala and Turmeric Powder seasoning and cook for another minute, until fragrant.
- Stir in the rolled oats and low sodium broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until oats are cooked and the mixture has thickened.
- Stir in mixed vegetables during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and green chili (if using) before serving.
