Gourmet Hashbrown Breakfast Sandwich with Aged Cheddar and Maple Bacon
Ingredients
- 2 patties Cavendish Farms Hashbrown Patties
- 2 slices PC Cheese Block (Aged Cheddar recommended)
- 2 slices Western Family Thick Cut Bacon
- 1 tbsp Maple Syrup
- 1 Large Egg
- 1 tsp Fresh Chives, finely chopped
- To taste Salt
- To taste Black Pepper
Instructions
- Cook Cavendish Farms Hashbrown Patties in a skillet with a little butter over medium heat until golden brown and crispy. (Improvement: Cooking in butter adds flavor and richness.)
- While the hashbrowns are cooking, brush Western Family Thick Cut Bacon with Maple Syrup and bake in oven at 400F until crisp. Set aside on paper towels to drain excess grease. (Improvement: Baking maple-glazed bacon creates a caramelized flavor and reduces splatter.)
- Fry a large egg to your liking (sunny-side up, over easy, or scrambled). Season with salt, pepper, and fresh chives. (Improvement: Chives add a fresh, herbaceous note to the egg.)
- Once the hashbrowns are cooked, place a slice of PC Cheese Block (Aged Cheddar recommended) on top of one patty to melt slightly under a broiler or with a culinary torch. (Improvement: Aged cheddar adds a sharper, more complex flavor than regular cheddar.)
- Assemble the sandwich by placing the cooked egg and maple bacon between the two hashbrown patties. Serve immediately. (Improvement: Serving immediately ensures optimal temperature and texture.)
