  2. Thoroughly rinse and drain black beans. Mash black beans in a bowl, leaving some whole for texture.
  3. Add gluten-free breadcrumbs, salsa, chili powder, smoked paprika, and cumin.
  4. Mix well until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Form into a patty. The mixture should be firm enough to hold its shape. If too wet, add more breadcrumbs.
  6. Place patty on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 10-15 minutes on each side, flipping halfway through, until heated through and slightly firm.
  7. Alternatively, pan-fry in a lightly oiled skillet over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes per side.
