Black Bean Burgers on Gluten-Free Buns

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Canned Black Beans
- 1/4 cup Gluten-Free Breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp Salsa
- 1/2 tsp Chili Powder
- 1/4 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 1/4 tsp Cumin
- 1 Gluten-Free Buns
- 1/4 Avocado
- 1 leaf Lettuce
- 1 slice Tomato
- 2 thin slices Red Onion
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Thoroughly rinse and drain black beans. Mash black beans in a bowl, leaving some whole for texture.
- Add gluten-free breadcrumbs, salsa, chili powder, smoked paprika, and cumin.
- Mix well until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Form into a patty. The mixture should be firm enough to hold its shape. If too wet, add more breadcrumbs.
- Place patty on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 10-15 minutes on each side, flipping halfway through, until heated through and slightly firm.
- Alternatively, pan-fry in a lightly oiled skillet over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes per side.
- Serve on a toasted gluten-free bun with avocado slices, lettuce, tomato, and thin slices of red onion.
