  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water before draining.
  2. While pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.
  4. Add broccolini and cook until tender-crisp, about 5 minutes.
  5. Stir in chickpeas, lemon juice (from the lemon), and lemon zest (from the lemon).
  6. Drain pasta and add it to the skillet. Add reserved pasta water as needed to create a light sauce.
  7. Toss to combine.
  8. Stir in fresh parsley. Serve immediately.
